Waiting list

| text |
2007

This year will be different than the year before again. In 2006 you could only order bamboo fly rods through my newsletter because we had a lot of other things that needed our attention. Now that we completed most of these I will start taking orders again the way I was used to.

If you have the desire to own one of the rods that I make than you can now contact me directly again and tell me about your wishes.

2006

This year I decided not to work with a waiting list/ backlog, not because I will stop making split bamboo rods but because I will be very busy.

We bought a new home and there is a lot that needs to be done there. Besides the fact that moving to the new home will take some time I also want to work out some idea's about fly reels and vises I would like to make. I will continue to make bamboo fly rods though, I am a professional rod-builder and I need to make a living too, but because of all the extra things that needs to be done I can not be specific about when rods will be finished in 2006.

Therefor I decided to do it different this year.

Because of the move and the extra work I can not spend as much time on making rods as I usually do in 2006, That's why I decided to work more efficient. Since changing tools and special finishing forms takes a lot of time for each taper I now try to avoid that and save time by only selling rods of my own series and by making them in small batches. Which does not mean they are not fully customizable.

Nothing will change in the making process; they are still completely made by my own four hands, Joyce winds the guides and makes the rod-bags and helps me with the leather rod tubes. Every technique I normally use will also be used on the 2006 rods. The only change is that I will not make any custom tapers. My own tapers take complete advantage of the material and are considered an authority on the subject of "well responding fly rods" by most of my customers. So why make "old" / custom tapers anyway?

People who are interested in buying one of my split bamboo rods can now subscribe to the newsletter and as soon as I finished some blanks I will send out a newsletter to those who are interested and notify them about what is available and how they can be purchased. You can also check the bamboo fly rods for sale page to find out about what I have for sale

This does not mean you can not contact me anymore about your preferences or with questions. You can still do that. In fact I would very much like to hear about your idea's or preferences and discuss them with you.

If you would like to be placed on the list of my newsletter then please use the form on the left.

Questions? Please contact me.
